About Lindsay
Although I have lived most of my life in cities both in Australia and overseas, I grew up in western Queensland, on a cattle property surrounded by beautiful bush, creeks, dams, with a mixture of cattle, sheep, dogs, cats. I currently live in Brisbane, Queensland.

A train trip on The Ghan in 2022 was the catalyst for picking up a pencil and sketching the Australian bush. When I came home, I set up an art room and started painting daily. Every morning I felt inspired and my newly discovered love of painting was breathing new life and excitement into my soul. I started doing portraits of my children and grandchildren. However, I found myself going back to colour theory basics after so many years without a brush in my hand and this helped me diversify into other loves, including landscapes and abstracts. The vastness of a vibrant blue Longreach sky or the terracotta reds of the outback roads brought back memories reminiscent of my early childhood years. My medium is acrylic.

I am influenced most by the Impressionists and enjoy browsing local art galleries when travelling. The person who inspired me most in my life is my father, Tony Waldron, who at 50 discovered he could paint when he joined Melvyn Moriarty's Flying Art School (which later became The Cooee Bay Art School). He was featured in the 1991 Artist magazine as a talented emerging artist. His style influences me today.

To revive myself I seek out the solitude of the bush. Solitude is a friend and I draw strength in being alone surrounded by nature.

I have gifted many pieces of artwork and sold in local markets as well as doing several commissions.
