Artwork Description

This still life features a lush bouquet of flowers arranged in a dark green vase, accompanied by a simple metal jug on a tabletop. The composition balances richness and restraint, with abundant blooms and foliage set against a softly layered, atmospheric background.

The painting focuses on colour relationships and rhythm rather than precise detail. Warm oranges, pinks, and soft whites are woven through deep greens and muted yellows, creating a lively yet harmonious surface. The brushwork is expressive and confident, giving the flowers and leaves a sense of movement and vitality.

Influenced by classical still life painting and modern expressive colour, the work celebrates everyday objects and the quiet beauty of a table arrangement. It captures a calm, intimate interior moment, where light, form, and colour come together in a decorative and timeless way.

Artist Bio

I am a Melbourne-based contemporary artist working primarily with acrylic on canvas. I create colourful abstract and semi-figurative paintings that explore emotion, calm, and quiet joy through simplified forms, symbolic imagery, and intuitive mark-making.

My work is strongly guided by colour. I use soft yet vibrant palettes, layered textures, and gentle distortion to create pieces that feel expressive without being overwhelming. Animals, florals, and everyday objects often appear in my paintings, reflecting themes of fortune, resilience, and the beauty found in ordinary moments.

I paint with the intention of creating works that connect easily with viewers and sit naturally within modern living spaces. While decorative in nature, my paintings are grounded in thoughtful composition and emotional depth, allowing each piece to feel both playful and contemplative.

I primarily work in medium to large-scale formats, creating original, one-of-a-kind artworks designed to bring warmth, colour, and personality into a home or workspace.
