Deep in the forest, a nuthatch perches on a tree branch and the air is still....for just a moment!
Inspired by a photo from the amazing Bob Barton ( used with permission), this pastel artwork captures a fleeting moment in time. I wanted to show the crisp detail of this lovely bird against a more painterly background and I’m very pleased with the results. I hope you love it too!

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
I’m a Qld. based pastel artist who loves to paint birds, flowers and the beauty of nature.
Even as a child, I loved to draw and paint but I didn’t become a full time artist until I was in my 30s. My art career began when a friend convinced me to attend a Folk Art Painting class and right from the start, I knew I had found my passion. Folk Art was my introduction to art but was just a springboard into the wide world of art techniques, mediums and styles. Many years later, my art has evolved into a way of sharing my love for travel and the natural world.
My medium of choice these days is pastels though I do paint in oils, acrylics and watercolours from time to time. I love to paint detail and I’m constantly inspired by the beauty of birds, flowers and scenery.
I hope you find something beautiful to fall in love with amongst my works!
Please note that I am also available for commissions from time to time - just ask!
