Indigo Blues

This original acrylic mixed media artwork comes with a light timber floating frame that has had a clear satin varnish applied and is ready to hang. "Indigo Blues" has a textured surface developed through the process of building up the surface with layers of paint and collage. The strong abstract geometric shapes contain pattern and memory fragments. The curved negative space gives the artwork a feeling of movement and space. The colours are indigo/navy/pale blue with bright red, orange and yellow patterning. This artwork is finished with a gloss varnish and is inspired by personal memory of a trip to Thailand. My aim is to invite viewers to look closely at my paintings and form their own connections.

Lindy is a mixed media artist based on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Working intuitively with acrylic paint, collage and drawing media, she creates layered abstract works inspired by landscape, architecture and the visual patterns of everyday life.

Through a process of building, obscuring and revealing, Lindy develops compositions that balance spontaneity with structure. Line, shape, texture and colour become a visual language through which memories of place and observation are transformed into abstract forms.

With a background in art education and a longstanding exhibition history, Lindy continues to explore the possibilities of abstraction through experimentation, curiosity and an enduring love of the creative process.
