Studio Still Life

This original artwork comes with a light timber floating frame that has a clear satin varnish applied and is ready to hang. I first commence an artwork by layering paint, collage and drawing materials to build an interesting textured surface. As I continued working with this process of layering, building, obscuring and revealing, vessel shapes began to appear. The painting began to show more geometric forms relating to the objects in my studio. An organic pathway of soft mint green leads the eye around the painting and intersects the patterned abstract shapes. The main colours are teal and soft pink. My aim is to invite viewers to look closely and to form their own connections with the artwork.

Lindy is a mixed media artist based on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Working intuitively with acrylic paint, collage and drawing media, she creates layered abstract works inspired by landscape, architecture and the visual patterns of everyday life.

Through a process of building, obscuring and revealing, Lindy develops compositions that balance spontaneity with structure. Line, shape, texture and colour become a visual language through which memories of place and observation are transformed into abstract forms.

With a background in art education and a longstanding exhibition history, Lindy continues to explore the possibilities of abstraction through experimentation, curiosity and an enduring love of the creative process.
