Dr. Ling Fan is an experienced media professional and columnist, currently teaching in the Department of Chinese Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Sydney, Australia. Before moving to Syndey in 2023, she taught at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She worked as a program presenter and producer at Radio Television Hong Kong and SBS Australia. She wrote a weekly column "Under the Sun" for the Hong Kong "Headline Daily" Newspaper over a decade. Her literary works include the essay collections «Under the Sun at This Moment», KUnder the Sun at Every Moment», KUrban Micro-Love Letters»

Dr. Ling Fan is a student of Hong Kongartist Lee Chi Ching, renowned illustrator for the martial-arts novelist Louis Cha Jing Yong, and under Lee's guidance, she has mastered traditional Chinese ink painting, while simultaneously exploring contemporary Western techniques. Lee describes her art work as "elegant, unworldly and peaceful." In December 2025, Ling will hold her solo Ink Art exhibition Life at easel at the Exhibition Hall, Hong Kong City Hall.
