Artwork Description

This gorgeous, metallic gold and silver illustration features three, Grevillea varieties. Producing vivid flowers in a variety of colours, they come in many forms and sizes. A member of the Protea family and one of the most popular shrubs across Australia. They are also a close relative of the banksia, hakea, and waratah. In bright light and under sunlight the leaves and flowers of this artwork have a sparkly effect. This very detailed piece would look nice in a silver or gold frame to set off the artwork.

Celebrating the beauty of this Australian native flower. Artwork is hand drawn using a waterproof, black pigment liner, hand painted with metallic gold and silver watercolour and select areas are coloured with metallic markers. Metallic gold and silver pencils help to define and give more detail to the piece. High quality, 220gsm drawing paper. Sprayed with permanent matt finish to protect the artwork.

Artist Bio

A Graphic Designer for over 20 years and a desire to develop my artistic abilities has led me to focus on visual art. Finding a combination of design and art skills compliment each other. Inspired by Australia's diverse flora and fauna, these illustrations celebrate their unique beauty. Bushwalking and a native garden also strongly influence my pieces. Mediums include pigment liners, watercolour, coloured pencil, markers and gouache. Artwork is hand drawn and sections intentionally left without colour creating a design element. My originals have featured in solo and group art exhibitions and collectors are from Australia and overseas. Collaborating with publishing companies, several illustrations feature on greeting cards. I aim to continually develop and refine my style, to grow as an Australian artist.
