Artwork Description

This gorgeous, Australian animal illustration captures a young, wandering Bare-nosed Wombat, with Tasmanian Buttongrass in the foreground. The world’s largest burrowing animal, they are primarily grazers. Their incisors work as efficient cutters of grass and forbs.

Hand drawn using waterproof pigment liners, then select areas are hand painted with watercolour. Coloured pencil helps to define and give more detail to each piece. Sections are intentionally left with no colour, to add a modern, design element. White gouache is used for eye highlights. High quality, 300gsm watercolour paper. Sprayed with permanent matt finish to protect the artwork.

If you want to select and purchase your own Australian made frame, I can suggest Profile Australia.

Artist Bio

A Graphic Designer for over 20 years and a desire to develop my artistic abilities has led me to focus on visual art. Finding a combination of design and art skills compliment each other. Inspired by Australia's diverse flora and fauna, these illustrations celebrate their unique beauty. Bushwalking and a native garden also strongly influence my pieces. Mediums include pigment liners, watercolour, coloured pencil, markers and gouache. Artwork is hand drawn and sections intentionally left without colour creating a design element. My originals have featured in solo and group art exhibitions and collectors are from Australia and overseas. Collaborating with publishing companies, several illustrations feature on greeting cards. I aim to continually develop and refine my style, to grow as an Australian artist.
