Always look on the bright side of life

I have had this canvas sitting for a while now unsure of what to paint. I was talking to a friend yesterday and we were talking about always looking on the bright side of life and I had this idea to paint a big flower on this massive canvas. So that is what I did.

This Warratah was a lot of fun to paint and the colours and nice and bright and fun. The background is painted with a roller in many directions so it has a very light texture almost like stucco.

The painting comes ready to hang and can also be framed for an additional amount.

I am an artist based in Wollongong, NSW, I grew up here between the mountains and the sea. My passion lies in painting with bright and bold colours, Australian native animals, especially birds make up a lot of my inspiration, though I also like to explore flora and still life subjects. I like to accentuate the hints of colour I see within my subject matter. I love painting with a palette knife and I use mainly acrylic paints on stetched canvas.

I love to add texture to the canvas with deliberate strokes that give the subject matter definition without it always being obvious. I am a full time artist working from my home studio on the South Coast. I find great inspiration from daily beach and bush walks and I can't imagine a life where I was not able to be creative everyday, and I feel truley blessed to be on this journey.
