Artwork Description

Von Guerard painted Breakneck Gorge Hepburn Springs in 1864. This area has strong linkages to the Swiss Italian settlers and the top of breakneck gorge is now home to the Laurie Sullivan Reserve where the Hepburn Burras play AFL and cricket. The breakneck area including Hepburn Springs, Hepburn and Elevated Plains are painted in aerial map view using colour to reflect land use. Laurie Sullivan Reserve.
