Artwork Description

VG Painted Bushfire in 1859. This work is based on the 2019 Hepburn fire and shows a DC10 dropping fire fighting foam on a dwelling at elevated plains. Ground resources (trucks) are flecks on the flank of the fireground which is sending up smoke curling against the sky.

By abstracting physical reality, applying thematic colouring to highlight layers within the landscape the viewer is challenged to think about significance and is there continuity and dissonance over time?
