Francois Peron National Park is where striking turquoise seas meet burnt orange beaches and dunes. Located in Western Australia’s Shark Bay it’s a photographers dream landscape of colours and potential compositions.
With warming sea temperatures pushing the sea grass found in the waters of the bay to it’s limits, the area that’s as fragile as it is beautiful. Dugongs, green sea turtles and a host of other marine life call these waters home and a changing climate is putting their habitat and food sources at risk.
This photograph was taken while hanging out the back seat of a tiny Cessna 206, wind whipping through the cabin but the colourful landscapes below ensuring I couldn't focus on anything but the beauty of Western Australia's coastline.
