Location: Shark Bay, Western Australia
This shallow body of water lies on the western coast of Australia and is home to many threatened species such as green sea turtles and dugongs who feed on the temperate seagrasses found in the area. With the seagrass living at itโs limit of tolerable water temperatures, this ecosystem has been classified as the highest level of vulnerable on a new CVI (Climate Change Vulnerability Index).
Captured from the backseat of a Cessna 206 plane while photographing with the doors off, this image was taken to showcase the natural beauty of this special part of the world and in turn, highlight itโs fragility.
