This painting was made from a photo I took at Peats Bite on the Hawkesbury River a couple of years ago. I was there for a long lunch Christmas party. The weather was dodgy, threatening rain all day. Although it was cloudy, we had a fabulous time and the weather seemed to add to that. It was dramatic and almost eerie looking out over the river, and all the beauty of the resort grounds was a lovely contrast to the inclement weather threatening our party.
The painting had been on my mind for ages and I finally decided to tackle it and it became a real labour of love! I'm so glad I did, though, as I'm really happy with the result.
