When the Sun Tried to Shine is a painting I made after visiting the Hawkins Lookout Reserve near Wisemen's Ferry, north-west of Sydney. This spot is true river beauty without having to travel too far. We've visited this area many times in the middle of winter (until Covid and flooding started messing with our plans!) and it blows me away every time. It's secluded and peaceful and the view from this lookout is quite breathtaking.
The painting measures 60x60cm plus raw oak frame and is made with artist's quality acrylic paint on Italian cotton canvas..
