Currently on the easel is this new painting of Bondi. This one's been stewing in my mind for about two years (yep, sometimes it takes even longer to make it's way out!) and I've finally made the move.
It's 61 x 61cm (24 x 24") and is acrylic on deep edge canvas. It's got a long way to go but I'm happy with the composition and looking forward to getting more detail into the work. I'm focusing on light, shape and colour in this piece, as I have with many of my other works in the last 12 months. I really love capturing people on the beach and hope to convey a feeling of calm with her seemingly carefree movement towards the water despite the greying sky and - as anyone who knows Bondi would ponder - where is everybody else?
Looking forward to sharing the finished product with you.
