Plein air Painting makes me analysis my surroundings to pick out what i like and put it in my paintings.
Sometimes it's just the shape of the estuary or the edge of a river bank. I can narrow it down to just an area that is creating interest.
I will see a range of shades and think they would be great in a completely different colour.
I use the shapes of the cloud to, for a composition or a suggestion of them but use a different colour combinations.
Seascapes are common for me to paint and I enjoy changing the colours of the natural environments to ones that I feel driven to use, it's something that I feel and choose when surveying the surroundings.
