Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Livia. I am a Brazilian professional chef with over 10 years experience. You might think: Oh, a chef who turned painter…?
Well, let me tell you how from one came another. I have always had an enormous passion and love for food. This combined experience of creating, experimenting with colours and textures, the presentation of the food and environment in which these delicious banquets could be enjoyed have always put my soul on fire!
I moved to Australia 5 years ago and since then, many things have happened - good and less enjoyable ones - however, this duality has shaped me into the person I am today.
Cooking has always been my way of finding myself and while doing so I can certainly take a journey within. I honestly never thought of doing anything else besides creating food art.
Although, a few years ago, when I was confronted with not such beautiful moments in my personal life and furthermore in my career, I decided to buy some paint, brushes and a couple of small canvases to distract myself from all that hardship and sadness I was experiencing. And thus, I realised how those colours and the movements while applying the paint to the canvas and seeing a gorgeous picture come to life, filled my soul with joy and made me feel so whole and grounded again. It was the same feeling I had when I cook and experiment with new flavours, ideas and textures, but with a deeper meaning and a lot of love.
After finding my passion for creating stunning, colourful prints, I was feeling whole and alive again.
I started buying more paint, different colours, brushes, and started to play with textures, I mastered different techniques and my passion just kept growing. I could see clearly now that bringing these pictures to life was setting me free, little by little.
After a few years, I was getting a lot of positive feedback from friends and the people around me. I even sold a few pieces within my circle. So, I believe I am now ready to show my work to a wider audience, to share and sell my paintings to the world.
All my artwork is created with love and each painting is unique in a way that it carries a little piece of me within.
