Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Inspired by misty winter forest walks. This piece had no plan, and simply evolved as each layer was added. I loved combining the hard edges against the softness of the mist. The top layer of lighter repetitive strokes represents the lifting of the clouds, with the golden origami birds added to bring a sense of movement and 'rising up'.

A grid of textured blue, white and grey squares, slightly extruding from the canvas, representing an ocean wave, set against a background of light blue/grey.An abstract geometric series of overlayed boxes, with a find gold dot detail traversing the canvas and central origami paper placement piece, set against a neutral parchment coloured background.A single tree set on a hillside, with abstract landscape shrubbery in the foreground and round, white, slightly surreal clouds set against a dark blue sky.An elevated view of the cliffs around Cape Schanck and the lighthouse, using dark greens, greys, olives and blues, set against a grey/blue sky, with brush strokes to suggest wind and clouds.
