Artwork Description

Living in Palmyra, Western Australia I often catch the bus to Canning Bridge to get into the city. These beautiful Pelicans are often perched precariously on top of the light posts having a nap. Their massive bodies look so ridiculously large compared to the lamp, and they always give me a giggle. I wanted to find an image that captured their funny nature, and chose this lovely shot by Dave. I added Perth city into the background, as they iconicly occupy the foreshore there.

For the process, I started with Daniel Smith water colour paint, and added the black and white detail with Gouache and Pencil.

This work is unframed.
