Artist Bio

Liz H. Lovell is a contemporary Australian artist whose paintings celebrate the country's landscapes, wildlife and everyday life, from coastal beachscapes and the High Country to observations gathered through local experiences and international travel.

With a deep affinity for Australian fauna and flora, Liz creates works that balance beauty, storytelling and environmental awareness. Drawing inspiration from artists including Vincent van Gogh, Elioth Gruner, Banksy and Hokusai, she blends classical references with bold colour, expressive brushwork and a distinctly contemporary Australian perspective.

Originally trained in investment banking with a Master of Commerce from UNSW, Liz later pursued her passion for art, completing a Diploma of Visual Arts and further studies with the National Art School, Julian Ashton, Art Est and other Sydney institutions. Her work has been featured in ArtEdit Magazine โ€“ Best of Flora & Fauna (2018), and she has also served as a volunteer guide at the Art Gallery of NSW and an art workshop tutor.

When not in the studio, Liz draws inspiration from hiking, kayaking, horse riding and travel, experiences that continue to shape her unique visual narratives.

"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." โ€” Edgar Degas
