Artwork Description

Classic 1950s caravan with fins! I love these shapely ladies, with such style and nostalgia for a simpler time. The great lightening zigzag red stripe offset by the clean white. They don't look very big but inside the design thinking has created a world of gadgets and transforming seats! Today people like to bring lots with them and the picture is showing an outdoor setting, shower and swimming pool. Referencing the 'stuff' that people take when they are getting away from it all.

Artist Bio

Ten years ago, I embarked on my artistic journey by enrolling in a 'Painting for adult beginners' class at the Brunswick studio of the Fitzroy Painters. Under the guidance of skilled instructors Adriane Strampp and later Kez Hughes in the Atelier class.

I started with humble beginnings but soon discovered a passion for oil painting. With their expert tuition, encouragement, and valuable advice, I honed my skills and gained valuable insights. This progress led me to participate in various group exhibitions, including those with the Fitzroy Painters, Print Maker Gallery, Victorian Art Society, Melbourne and Victorian Artists, Sherbrooke Art Gallery and Rotary Community Art shows.

My practice continues to be inspired by the creative exploration that first drew me to the studio, and I look forward to sharing my evolving work with new audiences. I work exclusively in oil paint as I prefer the colours, feel and effects that can be achieved with even a limited palette.
