After graduating with a BA in Fashion & Textile Design in London, I worked in the advertising industry before emigrating to Australia in 1997. For 25 years, I ran a successful photographic agency in Sydney, eventually moving to Newcastle where I rediscovered my passion for creating art.
My work reinterprets historical botanical illustrations through contemporary techniques, bridging traditional art with modern expression. Inspired by English gardens of my youth, I create detailed pen and ink drawings that are scanned, printed onto watercolour paper, then hand-coloured with watercolour pencils, ink and gouache. This hybrid process honours the precision of historical botanical engravings while embracing contemporary artistic spontaneity.
Now based in Newcastle, I find constant inspiration in this remarkable coastal region, where the interplay of natural beauty and urban landscape continues to inform my artistic practice
