The work is influenced by urban landscapes, architecture, man-made boundaries and the contrast between restriction and freedom. I am particularly drawn to the visual rhythm of fences, windows, structures and fragmented spaces, transforming these familiar elements into an expressive abstract language. Bold colour and spontaneous mark-making allow emotion and movement to take precedence over literal representation.
