Artwork Description

As I lay on the sand at Mordialloc Beach beautiful pastel pinks and blues fill the morning sky. Seagulls sit quietly on the beach, the water peaceful and calm. Looking through my lens, this fluffy little sticky beak came to say hello, peering right back at me before making his way further along the beach.

Artist Bio

ARTIST STATEMENT
Choosing to create harmony and balance in my life, I use photography as a meditative process, consciously creating my own internal landscape. At peace immersed in nature, much inspiration comes from my local coastal environment. It’s here in nature, whilst focused behind the lens, distractions fade away and I slow down. Calm, composed and focused, I now release the shutter, bringing forth my vision of the world as I see it, the world I choose to consciously create.

BIOGRAPHY
Based in Bayside Melbourne, Liza has studied art and design and worked in the print industry as a graphic designer. Inspired by the work of William Turner and Jeffery Smart, Liza always had aspirations to be an artist. In 2008 she followed her dream, exploring the art of photography, completing her Advanced Diploma of Photography with an Art Specialisation in 2011.

Since 2011 Liza has regularly exhibited her photographic art and received numerous awards and accolades, achieved through years of dedication to her work. In 2018 Liza was named The AIPP Victorian Landscape Photographer of the Year and she has also been recognised as a Master of Photography by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.

To date, Liza’s greatest achievement is her own recognition of the freedom she finds, whilst focused behind the lens, as a photographic artist.

CREATIVE PROCESS
With my camera I capture the light, colour and magic of the moment. With photoshop, I work with the light, colour and magic to manifest that which I felt in the moment. As a photographic artist photoshop is an essential tool, allowing for freedom of expression to create authentic emotive works of art that are truly a reflection of who I am.

Printing my work is when the magic really happens. To create a beautiful print is an art unto itself, one that has taken me many years to master. Passionate about crafting my own beautiful pieces of photographic art, many hours are spent in post production with many test prints produced, before I print my final work of art onto beautiful archival cotton rag paper. Using professional Epson large format printers and pigment inks ensures I create archival quality works of art designed to last for generations to come.

Given the white glove treatment, my artwork is always packed with great care before I send it off with love to its new home.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my work. I’m passionate about what I do and love sharing it with you!

PLEASE NOTE
Every limited edition print is digitally signed, titled and editioned on the front and comes complete with a hand signed certificate of authenticity. Prints are available hand signed on verso by request so as not to distract from the artwork.
