Light Gathered in Bloom

Light Gathered in Bloom is a celebration of colour, joy, and intuitive expression. Built through layers upon layers of vibrant acrylic brushwork, this work allows colour to accumulate, interact, and glow, creating a stained-glass effect that feels both energetic and uplifting.

Each floral form emerges through repeated gestures and overlapping marks, allowing light to appear as though it is held within the surface itself. Blues, pinks, golds, and warm citrus tones weave together, creating a sense of movement and rhythm across the canvas. The process was intuitive and immersive, with each layer responding to the one beneath it, resulting in a richly textured and luminous composition.

Painted on one of my earliest handmade canvases, this work carries a sense of freedom and discovery. Light Gathered in Bloom invites you to experience colour as emotion — layered, joyful, and alive — bringing warmth and vibrancy into any space.
