“Abstract art using vivid, vibrant colours provoking fantasy and imagery, with large gestural abstraction and movement."
Painting and creating artwork makes Loraine feel exhilarated! It is her passion.
She recently relocated from Sydney to the Southern Highlands and already feels like a local after participating in the “Blue Square” Art Prize where she sold some of her works.
Her work has evolved from intricate collages and mixed media to free flowing semi-abstract pieces using acrylic, water colour, ink, charcoal and pastel on canvas and paper.
Loraine has a Diploma in Creative Visual Arts from the International School of Colour & Design. She also has a Certificate III in Applied Colour & Design.
She has previously exhibited in group and solo exhibitions:
ARTS Trail, Wingecarribee Shire Council, Bowral - June 2019, August 2020 & November 2021
Blue Square Art Prize, Millis Gallery, Moss Vale – June 2019, August 2020 & June 2021
DaVinci’s Framing and Fine Art, Marrickville 2017 - solo exhibition
Young Blood Emerging Designers Exhibition, Paddington Town Hall, Paddington 2015
Waverley Library, Waverley Council, Bondi Junction 2013 - solo exhibition
Loraine derives her inspiration from the great artists John Olsen, Brett Whitely and Vincent Van Gogh and also from the Australian landscape and seascape.
