Celebrating the world around us through creativity, is to acknowledge nature's diversity and beauty in all its forms. The endless inspiration it provides manifests in constant images in the conscious and subconscious mind. To be able to share these visions with others, through artistic expression is a privilege and an honour.
Appreciating and creating art has been a part of my life for as long as I remember. I have explored many, many mediums and have taken commissions for people across the world from Europe to Japan as well as Australia. These commissions have been for glass painting and slumping, porcelain art, oil and acrylic painting, watercolour and drawing.
I have been fortunate in travelling extensively and have been able to create montages of all the places I have visited and loved. These often provide the inspiration for my pieces.
A part of my teaching career has involved teaching art to secondary and tertiary pre service student teachers with a hope of instilling a love of the arts and their importance in understanding ourselves, others and our world.
I am largely self taught and my many years of exploration and making of art is a never ending pursuit.
My relocation from city to a regional hamlet on acreage has given me so much inspiration, I can't keep up with the images in my mind! Eucalyptus trees hundreds of years old surround me and beckon to be drawn and painted. The vast skies change the way light plays on the landscape - an Impressionist's dream.
My dream is to continue sharing my artistic visions in whatever way provokes thought, reflection and emotion while being aesthetically pleasing.
I hope my artistic creations touch you in some way and I thank you for taking the time to ponder over them.
