Artwork Description

This aerial surfing painting is inspired by the coast life and surfing activities. I have always been jealous and wished that I had the courage, the hype and freedom that all the surfers feel when they ride The Wave ! In this painting, I am trying to capture that and I hope the viewer will transpose and get to see/feel these feelings while absorbing the beautiful ocean blues.

The Artwork is created on a quality stretched canvas. The canvas is gallery quality, 100% cotton, triple primed, acid free and 380g/m2.

This painting is completed with artist quality acrylics and it is double varnished once the curing process has completed. This painting is ready to hang as it is but can also be framed upon request with quality oak floating frame in the colour of your choice. Upon purchase, the Artwork will be signed and dated on the back, and will be securely packaged for your peace of mind.

Artist Bio

Lorena Chivu is an ocean and landscape admiring artist, who is currently making her home on the beautiful South Coast in Wollongong NSW.

Largely self-taught, Lorena often fluctuates between styles and mediums. Her repertoire to date consists of mixed media comprising acrylics, resin, ink, charcoal and collage.

Lorena believes the possibilities of exploration through creative art allows the viewer to experience the human condition outside of the box, not defined but rather discovered anew. As such Lorena pushes and challenges herself, manipulating her views and subjects while exploring the essence of landscape, environment and coexistence.

Taking this principle into her creations, Lorena’s latest works focuses on the beautiful Australian seascapes with a semi-abstract interpretation seen from above as a bird eye view spectator and admirer. In her latest works, Lorena wants to invite the viewer to notice and discover the details of human connection with the ocean, to admire and recognise the so familiar surroundings and lose themselves in what could be a typical day at the beach but so unique, free and beautiful in every way.
