This work depicts the dream of casting off of all the encumbrances of modern life for the freedom of a tropical paradise. The vibrant colours and beauty of the female form immediately grab the attention of those who set eyes upon it.

I am a self-taught artist who studied the life and works of Leonardo Da Vinci. My initial foray into oil painting came a little by chance. I read that Leonardo learned to prepare his own oil paints by mixing pigments into linseed oil. Intrigued by this, I determined that I would prepare a range of colours in linseed oil. With the paints at hand, I then decided to paint a butterfly, just for fun. The beauty of that butterfly in oil inspired me to commence my artistic journey.
