Loretta is a Queensland based artist who works in a range of mediums including photography, oils on canvas and wood, and mixed media. Her life-long love of botanical subjects and nature is evident in her work. As a child, Loretta would follow her Italian grandfather around his generous yard full to the brim of vegetables and flowers, chickens and pigeons. Always a keen photographer, painting came to her later in life. After her mother passed away, Loretta began painting as a way to manage the grief. She is a strong believer in art therapy and her extensive flower gardens provide abundant subjects.
Roses and dahlias are Loretta's favourite botanical subjects and feature extensively throughout her work. However, she is always on the lookout for interesting blooms with an architectural element, which she captures in her signature flowing and moody style.
