Artwork Description

Oil on stretched canvas, ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

Part of a series inspired by the work of British painter Francis Bacon, 'Here and There' explores the liminality of space and reflects on the restlessness in our contemporary world. The symbol of a revolving door is at the heart of the piece, while the fragments of human, animal and plant signify the interconnectedness of the world.

This artwork will be on show at the 2021 Bluethumb Art Prize Winners Exhibition at 1 Denison in North Sydney from 8th August - 23rd September. Delivery will occur after the exhibition ends on the 23rd September.

All art by Loribelle Spirovski

A multi-tonal red background with an abstract line drawing of a revolving door in the centre. Interspersed within the door are segments of various figures: the statue of a man, a bull and splices of sky and plant life. A woman is leaning on a couch in a living room. She is sparsely painted, with graphic outlines. The background is visible through her body. Beside her is an abstract metal sculpture and a monochome woven tapestry is hung on the wall.
