Artwork Description

In the hush between shadow and dawn, form begins to dissolve - not into absence, but into essence. ‘Becoming Light’ traces the tender metamorphosis of being, where what was once solid learns to shimmer and transform.

Soft layered washes of greens, lilacs and ivory gold cascade like rain down a windowpane, blurring boundaries between form and feeling. Through its transparency and movement, substance yields to radiance, suggesting the soul’s gentle evolution toward lightness and clarity.

Artist Bio

I often hear that to create art is to know yourself more. Making art has a message that not all will see and hear, but which resonates powerfully with those who do. To paint what captures my attention whether it be how perfectly human-made objects exist with nature, the beauty of reflective light or the majesty and power of Mother Earth is to appreciate this life.

More recently I’ve painted memories from my life’s moments; snapshots of the obvious and others, not so. Let the story be told - not only mine but of those who are provoked to sense and remember their own special moments when engaging with my art.

With the use of brush, palette knife and other mark-making tools, I build multiple layers of paint in oils or acrylics. The application of different textures also help to reveal a side-story to the main and this is an area I take time to develop. The texture creates depth and interesting twists and turns to the theme of my paintings much like the different characters and themes of a novel.

Many styles and mediums are yet to be explored but I look forward to navigating my way through this experimentation.
