My work explores the tension between wild expression and held space. I build layered, intuitive surfaces and let them find their own internal balance — unresolved, but complete. Colour is my primary language: bold, sometimes reckless. I want my paintings to land with immediacy, then reward slower looking. My process is intuitive, emotionally honest, and resistant to polish. I work primarily in acrylics and mixed media, responding to what each painting needs as it finds its way into being.
I am drawn to the works of Howard Hodgkin, David Hockney, Gerhard Richter and Brian Rutenberg — colourists whose work continues to influence my own.
