Ocean road

I think of the paintings in this body of work as semi abstract, almost dreamlike where things feel familiar but nothing makes sense. There is recognisable imagery, but they warp, melt and dissolve into abstract worlds they inhabit. I seek to use colour and form to make paintings that reveal themselves slowly and reward the viewer with new discoveries the longer they look

Hi and welcome , My name is Laine and I live in the middle of the Australian bush and my heritage is Scottish.
I draw inspiration from the natural world around me, particularly the creatures in it and I use my imagination to create a new world of my own.
I think we are most creatively free when we are very young and I have made it my mission to retain this pure, joyous form of expression.
