Artwork Description

This painting captures the shore break immediately after sunset. A summer evening like this is rare out west but the water looks like liquid silver! Likely Scarborough beach though I forget!

Artist Bio

Louis Parker is a Fremantle/Walyalup based artist. He has recently returned to WA after two years living in Paris (and three in Stockholm before that). His style is heavily influenced by his countless hours studying the impressionist greats at the Musée d'Orsay and Louvre. He believes a great landscape painting should convey the emotion of inhabiting a given space, favouring impulsive mark making over meticulous photorealism. A life long surfer, coastal scenes make a natural subject though Louis will try to paint just about anything with varying degrees of success.
