This image of Newcastle Ocean Baths reflects the Novocastrian identity; we are draped in blue. Our proud and defiant steel-blue collar harbour history; the sapphire blue of the ocean off our gem-like beaches; and the depth of our cerulean blue coastal skies, an endless source of cloud-based inspiration beyond the blue.
This image was awarded a Top10 place in Australasia's Top Emerging Photographer Awards 2021 (single shot).

Louise is a passionate and award-winning photographic artist, having achieved recognition for her portrait, landscape & architecture photography. Most recently, Louise was a finalist in the Head On Photography Prize 2021 & Bowness Photography Prize 2020. Louise exhibits locally in her home town of Newcastle, NSW and is a member of the WH!P (Women of the Hunter in Photography) Collective. Her science background combined with a fascination for the natural world and people feeds her photography. Storytelling, empathy, vulnerability and the play of natural light are drivers for Louise's work.
