The art of Louise Grove Wiechers captures the spirit of the ideal rural experience, by simplifing key elements to their basics, leaving only the impression of the perceived vision. Louise Completed a BA FINE ARTS HONOURS Degree , majoring in Graphic art and printmaking.While still an undergraduate, she won the 'New Signatures' prize for Printmaking, as well as the 'D Clark prize' for excellence in Fine art . She was also a finalist in 'The Martienssen Prize Exhibition'. After many years of teaching and lecturing in art, she started painting on a fulltime basis. Her studio in Eagle Heights, Tamborine Mountain (QLD) where she specialises in painting, drawing and printmaking. It has fulfilled her life-long ideal of living and integrating into a rural community. A keen world traveller, her work is an expression of rural living. She works in oils, acrylics, a variety of drawing materials, as well as various printmaking methods, including etching, monoprint , lino and collograph.
