This painting was inspired by creating a blend of loud and intense colour combination to visualise the sound of noisy city lights. You will see vivid layers of lights in the foreground and fading out into the distance.
This body of work is a continuation of experiments in light, colour and correlations with sound. This theme was kickstarted at the ‘Fields of Light’ exhibition held in August 2019 at The Third Quarter Gallery in Brisbane. Most of my work is about the correlational aspect of sound to colour, and colour to light.
The blurry circular shapes are often used throughout my pieces as illusions of vibrations, lights, and distant shapes on a horizon. I find the circles to be a structural symbolic form that shapes my sonic language to interpret the vibrations of sound to colour.
