Silvery Light is one of the pieces from the Above The Canopy series and has developed from the new view from my studio window where all the trees have been cut down (it’s ok they were a pest) what was left was one lone spindly gum tree - when you look out above the tree canopy there are always a few brave souls who strive to rise above the others. This particular piece reminds me of moonlit nights - we recently experienced an harvest moon - which was incredibly bright - it made the branches glow in the gum tree outside my window. In this painting I've used a paint named interference - it interferes with depth perception, as you move across the panting surface and the light reflects off the paint, the branches disappear and then reappear.
"The mountain ash the big giant in forest park stand tall
He tower above all others beside him they seem small
“The stringybark and ironbark familiar to the eye
You know them by the bark they wear the gum trees never lie”
From a poem by Frances Duggan

The piece will arrive cocooned in bubble wrap and packed within a sturdy cardboard container, sometimes recycled ( I do like to recycle when I can!), any glass will be taped to help prevent breakage, I am still losing the war with the tape machine so the package may not be the prettiest on the outside but the contents will arrive safe and sound.
