Tattoo

Incorporated into a series of hand studies, exploring the idea of ink on skin in the form of a botanical tattoo. This painting explores the idea of tattooing and what it can add to the form and the image of body parts. This leaf tattoo in particular, compliments the long slender hand in a seamless transition.

I have been painting and drawing all my life in periods where time allows. in more recent times have been focused on the beautiful Australian landscape, painting in oils to capture the muted charm of the Melbourne Bay area amongst other things. I also draw and paint in watercolour on paper, bringing to life local scenes as I find them, life drawing, still life and figurative studies.
