My name is Lucy. I live on the beautiful island of Tasmania with my family.
My art is spontaneous and intuitive with a strong textural element.
I aim to produce artworks that have visual complexity. Under each finished work are many layers, some seen and some unseen. I build them up by using unusual media such as cornice cement, rock salt, rubbing alcohol, coffee, bitumen, charcoal, and of course acrylic paint. I slowly work and rework the surface until I have created an artwork that is immediately striking and at the same time draws the viewer’s eye in to enjoy the high level of detail within the work.
