Highly interested and inspired by numerous artists and art practices associated with the Surrealism Art Movement as well many attributed with German Expressionism and the Abstract Expressionists.
Much of the artist’s work and practice is centred around themes involving the human body and psyche aiming to capture the essence of any being as one that consists of two primarily equal and interrelating elements: that is the physiological and the psychological components that contribute to the identity. Many of the artist’s works address these ideas relating to identity, the psychological state or experience of an individual, the human body or portrait in a somewhat abstract and expressive manner usually through the medium of oil or acrylic paintings, or mixed media drawings as well as photography and collage.
Time, aging and mortality, perception, and human endeavour/human suffering also act as frequently explored themes and subject matter for Lucy’s artistic approach. She is highly expressive and passionate in nature and this is too communicated through her art; whatever the medium.
