It is a rare gift to experience the marine environment
at a slow enough pace to appreciate all of its details.
I have been fortunate enough to do this and, through my drawings I hope to reveal the intricate patterns, and tessellating forms that are on display beneath the water.
As a mother and artist Iβm also interested in the role that technology increasingly plays in our lives, and in a world where AI software can write a song, I was interested in exploring whether I could I replicate what a basic inkjet printer does.
The results are a mosaic of thousands of dots of ink, not dissimilar to those of a dot matrix printer. These dots give form to curves and undulations but, unlike a photocopy, my monochrome representations pay homage to the detail; toning it up, not down.
