It's rare that we find ourselves surrounded by nothing, in complete silence, yet blessed with incredible beauty. This image was taken after a hike of many kilometres to the centre of a dry salt lake in the height of summer. The setting sun cast a beautiful warm glow, igniting a deep pink colour in the ancient salt pan.
