Original Artwork's Description

"Con" is a captivating portrait that depicts a man named Con in a moment of tranquil introspection. Seated on a wooden chair against a vibrant yellow wall, Con basks in the warm glow of the sun. The cobbled path below adds texture and hints at the passage of time.

The yellow wall symbolizes vitality, positivity, and enlightenment, while the cobbled path represents the journey of life with its twists and turns. Together, they create a contrasting backdrop that accentuates the tranquility of Con's contemplative state.

"Con" invites viewers to appreciate moments of stillness and reflection. It encourages us to find solace in simplicity, observe the world around us, and discover beauty in the present moment. This portrait serves as a gentle reminder to pause, ponder, and find contentment in the embrace of the world.

Artist Bio

I create portrait art on canvas with oil paint. Carefully I observe, then slowly sketch form and outline. Then add colour, depth and contrast.

I want to attract the viewer with a likeness which is familiar and recognisable. Then keep the audience searching for character, personality and energy.

There is such a challenge in portraiture. There is such a thrill to see lines, strokes and colour transform into human form. I’m inspired by identity, story and temperament coming to life in art.

I want to create artwork which catches your eye, that you can’t stop looking at.
