A man of previous time. Determined, seasoned and resilient. He is subject to the whims of nature, but he has grown to be patient and long-suffering.

I create portrait art on canvas with oil paint. Carefully I observe, then slowly sketch form and outline. Then add colour, depth and contrast.

I want to attract the viewer with a likeness which is familiar and recognisable. Then keep the audience searching for character, personality and energy.

There is such a challenge in portraiture. There is such a thrill to see lines, strokes and colour transform into human form. I’m inspired by identity, story and temperament coming to life in art.

I want to create artwork which catches your eye, that you can’t stop looking at.
