Artwork Description

Autumn Renew is a tactile, earth-drenched reflection of the quiet power found in nature. Created with a mix of traditional paint and raw natural materials — including leaves, grass, soil, and petals — the piece holds a physical connection to the garden it was inspired by. Each mark, texture, and layer is rooted in a moment of stillness, a feeling of grounding, and the calm that comes from being immersed in the outdoors.

This work doesn’t follow a plan — it follows feeling. Built through instinct and flow, Autumn Renew is an abstract meditation on presence. The palette was drawn from memory, not reference — a subconscious pulling of colour from time spent in the garden: deep browns, soft creams, earthy greens, and the delicate hint of faded blossoms. These tones speak to both decay and renewal, mirroring the cycle of nature itself.

It’s a painting that invites you to slow down. To step back and breathe in its broader energy, then move closer to discover the layered intricacies up close. A piece that doesn’t shout for attention, but holds space — quiet, textural, and deeply felt.

Artist Bio

Lulu Unsworth is an Australian multidisciplinary creative whose work sits in the quiet tension between softness and strength. With a background in design and a deep reverence for natural textures, her practice is rooted in abstraction — an intuitive, feeling-first approach where each piece becomes a release, a meditation, and a moment of stillness.

Lulu doesn’t begin with a finished image in mind; instead, her process is guided by emotion, gesture, and presence. Texture is central to her work — she creates pieces that invite both distance and closeness, encouraging the viewer to step back and feel, then lean in and explore. Favouring large-scale canvases that hold space for quiet complexity, Lulu’s work is both subtle and immersive, capturing inner states with softness and strength.

She is currently seeking opportunities to expand her practice into even larger-scale works and immersive projects that push the boundaries of texture, emotion, and scale.
