Back in high school we did this beautiful poem about how certain scents remind the writer of certain women in his life. I am sure we can all connect with that, for me cinnamon reminds me of my one grandma who used to bake us milktart, aniseed reminds me of my other nanna who bakes delicious aniseed rusks. Baby Talc powder screams of my mom as she always used it growing up, Gucci Rush of my wifey as it’s her favourite perfume and Chanel Nr 5 of Marilyn Monroe... not that I have ever met her but because of her infamous quote – “What do I wear in bed? Why, Chanel No. 5, of course”
This piece is part of my new exhibition "Spring In My Step"
