To say it has been a tough year for Australia is to put it very mildly indeed. Young or old, we were all affected by the raging fires that ripped so mercilessly through our beautiful country and our hearts bled for all our beloved wildlife that suffered so severely in its' path. And then, before we could count our losses or lick our wounds Covid 19 was upon us.

the Sun might crack the bark upon my back
still I stand

the gale force Wind might bend my neighbour friend
but I am Australian born and bred
still I stand

the Rain may pour and flood away
but tomorrow comes another day and
still I stand

scorching Fires rage and sends those with feet to run
but when the day is done
still I stand

so many seasons come and go
it can get quite lonely you know
but on clear nights like these
I lift my gaze in awe
reaching up in praise
to the mighty gods who walked this land before me
Who endowed me with this gift
this blessing
this spirit of endurance
